Bloggy musings

Tuesday, November 14th, 2000

I have since seen Charlie’s Angels (twice, actually). While not great cinema, it is nevertheless a fun movie; it doesn’t take itself too seriously, and its viewers probably shouldn’t either.

I’m going to try and make these updates a little more substantive. Although by last tally I had, oh, one regular visitor to this site (Hi Noelle!), that number’s bound to double or triple given enough time and bribes. When it does, I want to have something here to show.

So that means I’ll be working on this page and building some sort of site to back it up. If you’ve had some grand epiphany on what I should put on my site, please let me know. (Hell, just let me know if anybody’s even reading this damn page!)

To quote the old Tonight Show stills: More to come…

…or not.

Well, I didn’t end up seeing Charlie’s Angels. Instead, Saturday saw me staying at the shop and playing Mage Knight for awhile before going home and getting some much needed sleep.

Recent movies watched:

  • Mission to Mars - Verdict: Prime MST3K material. Somebody please get those filmmakers a physicist!
  • Heavy Metal 2000 - Verdict: Suffers from not-so-hot voice acting and a lack of the humor that cropped up occasionally in the original. Still moderately watchable, though.

Charlie’s Angels

Probably going to see Charlie’s Angels this weekend. It’s gotten mixed reviews, but they’re still tending to be a little more positive than I would’ve figured. In any case, it’s gotta be better than Highlander 2!

Halloweeen [non-]excitement

Had an okay Halloween yesterday. Because of poor planning on my part, I ended up only being able to assemble a costume consisting of… (wait for it)… devil horns. Yeah, I know… not exactly trés chic, but it got the job done.

We had a costume contest at the shop last night. Turnout was okay, if smaller than we’d hoped. A few trick-or-treaters stopped in, but I suspect most kids (and their parents) didn’t know we were doing anything special for Halloween - not many stores here do, and there’s no mall here to do the "Safe Kids"-type event.

After Jason and Kris took Amber trick-or-treating, we settled in for an introductory Call of Cthulhu game that Jim ran. It went well (even if it did start late), with only one character going slightly insane and nobody dying. If we play again, I’m sure we won’t be so lucky.
