The Four Horsemen draw nigh…
Monday, April 30th, 2001I joined the gym.
I joined the gym.
I’m gonna go see about joining a health club on my lunch break.
(or, Three Thousand Graphics Geeks Can’t Be Wrong)
Rather than go into a full recap of my activities at Photoshop World 2001, I’ll list some key points/observations.
Take this test and find out.
Icy Hot really works… and keeps right on working if you accidentally get it on your cheek, your ear, or even your tongue. (And for God’s sake, be careful if you have to use the restroom!)
I’ve been trying to think of a way to visualize 6th-dimensional space. (Why? I dunno. Just one of those wacky things I do.)
No luck so far, but found some interesting animations of building a tesseract (a 4-D “cube”).
“You are the weakest link! Goodbye.”
Watched an episode of the Eco Challenge this weekend. It’s amazing just how demanding it is: trekking across hundreds of miles of rugged terrain with nothing but what you strap to your back. The condition that the participants need to be in - mental as well as physical - to be able to just complete the race is stunning.
I’d like to be in good enough shape to be able to tackle the Eco Challenge someday. It won’t be anytime soon, but I’m on the right track.
(Incidentally, if anybody has some details on what sort of physical training/conditioning the participants used to train for the Eco Challenge, let me know. Baby steps…)
Well, I went ahead and signed up for service through Blogger in the hopes that it will help me update this thing much more frequently.
I got motivated to do so after seeing somebody else do so yesterday at a big educational technology show in San Diego.
The show was called The Power of Digital Learning, the first day of a three-day conference by the San Diego County Office of Education, the Classroom of the Future Foundation, and many business partners. I was there to help one of the heads of BorderLink Project present a demonstration of LinkWorld. Things went pretty smoothly.
I’m still getting a feel for this, so I’m going to end here. Hopefully I’ll have something substantive to talk about later.
