Cat Conundrum

Friday, August 31st, 2001

I don’t fucking know what to do about my cats.

One or both of them keeps urinating all over the house. Today, they pissed on a tablecloth. Time before, they pissed on a bunch of pillows in the living room. About a month ago, it was a laundry basket full of Kris’ clothes (which ruined them, needless to say).

I’m so tired of not being able to have/keep nice things because they always find a way to fuck them up.

At the same time, I’m extremely reluctant to get rid of them. I mean, I’ve never been one to casually discard a pet; no, I make lifebonds. Toby and Joxer have been important pieces of my life since the divorce (and before). I don’t want to put them to sleep.

But I really don’t know what to do.

If I keep them (assuming Jay and Kris even still let me), they might get confined to my room. And the little shits will fucking claw up the carpet trying to get out; Toby accidentally got locked in Jay and Kris’ room for an afternoon last week and he managed to ruin the carpet near their door - it’s going to need to be replaced. (Great. More damages for me to pay off.)

Maybe I can see if my mom and dad can take them. Like I said, I don’t want to get rid of them… but I might need to. If they agreed to do it, my parents would take good care of ‘em, and at least I’d still be able to see them when I go out there to visit. :-(

Arrrr….!

What’s your pirate name? Take this test and find out!

I’m Mad John Cash, and here’s what the site had to say about it:

Every pirate is a little bit crazy. You, though, are more than just a little bit. You’re musical, and you’ve got a certain style if not flair. You’ll do just fine. Arr!

The Circle Draws Nigh

Thursday, August 30th, 2001

As an adjunct to the Wicca class I’m taking, we’re gonna have a special circle on Sunday the 2nd for the full moon.

I’m not sure what to expect. It should be interesting. :-)

When Beckons All Hallow’s Eve

I’ve been trying - unsuccessfully - to think of some sort of costume for Halloween. I wanted to do something better than last year’s “costume” (if wearing devil horns constitutes a costume), but hadn’t come up with much beyond a Renaissance outfit (about which I agree with the blogmistress - cool on women, dorky-looking on men).

It’s looking like there might be a way around my costume quandry.

Jason, Kris, and I are looking at running a Vampire LARP (live-action roleplaying game) on Halloween! It’s still in the initial oh that would be cool; how could we do it? stage, but I think it’s going to happen.

And I’m really looking forward to it. :-)

What’s the opposite of lucid dreaming?

I’m laying in bed this morning, and the stupid alarm keeps going off! And the thing is, I can’t figure out why….

Why…?

Why is my alarm going off so much on Saturday?

Yes, that’s right. I was caught in a dream-loop that it was the weekend already. I remember even being a little anxious because I didn’t have any material prepared for my Saturday afternoon Rolemaster game.

And when work called at 8:30 to find out where I was, my first mental response was to wonder why in the hell they were calling me on a Saturday morning!

Needless to say, I showered and dressed in record time and hightailed it in to work.

So long, neighbor…

After 34 years on TV, Mr. Rogers is retiring.

Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood and Sesame Street were big shows to me when I was a wee tyke. How about you? Can you, for example, hear the music from the “one two three four five, six seven eight nine ten, eleven, twelve” pinball sequence? ;-)

What other educational TV shows did you watch as a kid? Comment and let me know.

Go Harry! Go Harry!

Finished HP4 (Goblet of Fire).

It kicked ass. :-)

I’m a little worried now: I’ve read through all the Harry Potter books, and am now outta things for me to get my HP fix.

I think I’m gonna be investing in a deck and booters of the HP CCG… ;-)

(Except Where the Movie Theater Sucks)

J&SBSB isn’t playing at the local theater. (SUCK!)

Hopefully, it’ll show up here next weekend.

So sleeeeepy…..

I’m writing this from the shop, where we’re in the last half of the last day of the anniversary sale.

I was right: it’s been a fun madhouse.

Apparently, on the first day, Jay and Kris had a line of people out the door, anxiously waiting for us to open so they could come buy from us.

And buy from us they have. Suffice to say, it’s been a very good weekend for us, sales-wise. It’s encouraging just how many new faces we’ve seen over the weekend.
