The shop is celebrating its one-year anniversary in its current location (though it was actually run out of Jay and Kris’ house for a whole year prior).
So we’re having a big sale-slash-party - everything in the store’s on sale, plus we’re doing demos, plus we’re giving away free food and drink and prizes…
It’ll be a madhouse.
A fun madhouse, but a madhouse nonetheless.

Rob Malda, Cmdr. Taco of Slashdot fame, has posted some cool pics of a home MAME cabinet he’s making.
MAME is an arcade game hardware emulator, letting you play old arcade games on your PC. I haven’t fiddled around with it, but would like to at some point.
I could play Tron or Donkey Kong Jr. or Gyruss…

Scientists have found the gene in beef cattle that codes for juicy, delicious steaks. Wired News has the story.
Guess who was busy today after work?
I’m still not done - I have to activate the navigation links to the left and fix the hyperlink colors, for instance, but it’s a good start.
Make sure you reload the page a couple of times to check out the different Soul Cookies you get up there at the top.

I knew I needed to catch up on sleep this weekend, but geez louise…
Spent a late Friday night at the shop entering the comic book order - we ended up getting out of there sometime after 1am. I meant to get up pretty early (relatively speaking) on Saturday.
Didn’t happen.
First thing to consider is that I stayed up another hour or so after getting home finishing up book two of Harry Potter and starting in on book three.
Secondly, I hit my snooze button for like two hours on Saturday morning — without waking up.
I ended up losing a productive morning to sleep and a bleary-eyed viewing of The Zeta Project on TV.
And then Sunday was worse. (Damn, I am such a lazy S.O.B. sometimes.)
This is a little odd, but pretty cool.
A company called Black Knight Automotive is selling conversion kits - interior and exterior - to make your car (a Trans Am, presumably) look like KITT from Knight Rider.
The blogmistress is going to see Aerosmith tonight, and so I was going to do some sort of terribly funny bit using lyrics from their songs.
…until, that is, that I discovered I really don’t know the lyrics to their songs.
Sure, when they come on the radio or VH1 or whatever, I can instantly tap the oversoul and remember, but at no other time do I have such access.
