…when a geek proposes to his girlfriend in front of a quarter of a million strangers.

(Awwwww…….)

Overly… saccharine… and yet… strangely… heartwarming;-)

Update: Wired News is running a story on the proposal entitled Cupid’s Bull’s-Eye on Nerd Site .

Steath Internet Interaction as Quasi-Advertisement

My pompous titling aside, Wired News ran an interesting article on the wrapping up of a three-year email SOAP opera developed as advertisement for Calvin Klein’s CK One fragrance.

New campaign, new website.

I started a new D&D campaign this past Saturday (it went quite well, thank you). One of the things I’ll be trying (again) is to have an actively-maintained campaign support site.

The Grey City Chronicles site is still under development; mostly, I need to transcribe all the little world bits floating ’round my head!

Dune Mini-Series Special Edition on its Way
Fuck - I hate, hate, hate when they do this: I buy a DVD soon after its release only to have the studio release a better edition some months later. Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Almost Famous. And now the Dune miniseries. Hey studio bigshots! Are you trying to teach me to not buy new-release DVDs?

The Best Part of the Super Bowl

Tuesday, February 5th, 2002

…the Super Bowl commercials.

(Okay, maybe less so this year, what with the Patriots’ last-minute, upset victory over the Rams. But in general, such is the case.)

Interesting side note: TiVo collected some aggregate data on their users’ Super Bowl viewing habits. The most-watched play? The field goal that ended the game. The most-watched commercial? Britney, baby.

Addendum: Wired News is also running a story on TiVo’s findings.
