VR Simulation of Schizophrenia

The Sights and Sounds of Schizophrenia is a several-months-old link from NPR about a drug company that has developed a “virtual reality” simulation of the symptoms of schizophrenia.
While I’m not sure it’s actually true VR, it is creepy - make sure you watch their multimedia slideshow adaptation [Real Player needed] of what a schizophrenic episode looks/sounds/feels like.

Can’t decide what to get that special woman in your life for the holidays? In Germany, handcuffs are the fastest selling item at five new shops tailored for women by the country’s biggest retailer of sex merchandise. Beate Uhse AG said handcuffs have been flying off the shelves of stores it opened this year to focus on women, rather than the traditional male clientele. “This just goes to show that these days women know what they want and they’re not shy about getting it,” said Beate Uhse’s spokesperson.
