More A Sound of Thunder news

Sci-Fi Wire has a brief interview with Ed Burns, who’s one of the stars of the forthcoming A Sound of Thunder movie.

Burns plays Dr. Travis Ryer, a guide with Time Safari Inc., a company owned by Charles Hatton (Ben Kingsley), which uses time-travel technology to enable its clientele to hunt for dinosaurs in the past. When rules are broken and the future is altered, Ryer must team with Sonia Rand (Catherine McCormack), creator of the time-travel technology, to save the day. [more]

They’re apparently taking more than a little dramatic license with the short story, but that’s pretty much a necessary given to flesh it out to movie-length.

Oh, and just in case you missed it above and in my original mention, it also has Catherine McCormack of Dangerous Beauty fame! W00t!

Vegas Status Report

Here I am in my hotel room in Vegas typing away to all my peeps. That’s how big a geek I am. ;-)

The GTS has been pretty good so far. Swag’s a lot lighter than in previous years, and we have to stand in too many lines for the special meetings and dinners (apparently the convention staff pre-estimated this year’s attendance about 40% too low — this con is packed.

Saw George Carlin perform at the MGM Grand on Monday night. Funny stuff.

I’m going to keep this short since I’m typing away on the world’s worst keyboard that the hotel has so thoughtfully provided for use with their in-room Internet. (Grr. Argh.)
