Got an update on happenings in the Benderverse (thanks, Scott!) today, and since a [large] portion of my [small] readership would probably be interested in the news, here it is, in ascending order of OMG-ness:

Old news: Tom got married

I knew this already (hell, I was there), and I’m betting that many of you did too. It’s been nigh on two years since the wedding. Yay!

New news: Quick, name a Village People song other than “YMCA”

If you said “In the Navy,” you correctly predicted the gist of this news tidbit.

Tom has joined the Navy and will be shipping out to Basic Training in Pennsacola, Florida, shortly. He’s apparently going in as an officer and will be doing cryptography stuff during his tour o’ duty.

Big new news: And lo, M. Thomas Bender III begat M. Thomas Bender IV

That’s right, ladies and gentlemen: Tom is a dad.

M. Thomas Bender IV, nicknamed Rhys (pronounced “Reese”), was born sometime around February 26th of this year. Congratulations, Tom and Becca! (Not that, um, you’re going to ever even see this…)
