…Very Hot Conditions Expected This Week…
High pressure over the southwestern states will strengthen and expand Tuesday through Thursday. As a result… daytime highs will rise each day… with the hottest weather of the year likely at most sites on Thursday. Record or near record highs are expected Wednesday and Thursday over south central Arizona… with near record highs over far southeast California… and the lower Colorado River valley Thursday and Friday.
The following are record high temperatures for Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport for the dates of July 9th through July 13th.
July 9… 116 set in 1958 July 10… 115 set in 1934 and 1958 July 11… 118 set in 1958 July 12… 114 set in 1925… 1939 and 1985 July 13… 114 set in 1939 and 1989
People are urged to stay indoors… and drink plenty of water.
