Not exactly a virus, but still bloody annoying
I actually received one of these from someone on my AIM buddy list yesterday. It was someone with whom I’ve never actually exchanged an instant message, so it naturally set off some red flags for me.

Got an instant message from your boss telling you to check out a link? Think twice before clicking. It’s a link to a program that will display ads on your computer and spread to everyone else on your Buddy List.
