Janet May Return to TV on ‘Saturday Night Live’

Janet Jackson is “penciled in” for an April 10th appearance on NBC’s Saturday Night Live, MSNBC.com gossip columnist Jeannette Walls reported today (Wednesday), citing an unnamed insider. Jackson will reportedly host the show and participate in a sketch spoofing the uproar over her Super Bowl breast-baring. The aim, the source said, is to encourage “everyone to chill about this whole thing.” NBC said only that Jackson’s appearance is “not confirmed at this time.”

No big whoop. However, the blurb continues with the cool part:

Meanwhile, Walter Cronkite, once regarded as “the most trusted man in America” has spoken out on the Jackson incident. In an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle, Cronkite remarked: “I was terribly disappointed. (Pause.) I was really disappointed because I was out making popcorn. I spent a lot of time in the next couple days hoping to see a replay. And then in the replays I didn’t see anything at all of interest.”

I found his interview on the SFGate.com site. It’s a good read.
