A portrait of President George W. Bush using monkeys to form his image has led to the closure of a New York art exhibition over the weekend and anguished protests over freedom of expression.
“Bush Monkeys,” a small acrylic on canvas by Chris Savido, created the stir at the Chelsea Market public space, leading the market’s managers to close down the 60-piece show that was scheduled to stay up for the next month.

No Producers for Nicole Kidman

Hey there. Wanna buy a shitload of comics dirt-cheap?
I’ve got something like 20-25 boxes (mostly short boxes, some long) full of comics that I need to sell to stay afloat this month.
They date back across my 20+ years of collecting, though the bulk are from the past 5-7 years. Most are bagged and backed.
I plan to take them to a comic shop that buys in bulk tomorrow (Friday) evening, but figured I’d throw the opportunity to buy them out to y’all.
I’m asking $500 for all the comics, and if you’re in the south bay and I know you, I’ll even deliver them, though preferably at some occasion we’re going to see each other anyway (largely ’cause it might take two trips).
Paypal would be peachy-keen.
Interested? Let me know at [edit: some address that I got spam at exactly one week after creating the box and posting its address here, and which I have since deleted].
