Nostalgia’s not always so shiny
Taken, in full, from an article at Sci Fi Wire:
Knight Rider Still Rides?
David Hasselhoff told Australia’s Rove Live TV show that he’s acquired the film rights to his old Knight Rider TV series and still plans to turn it into a feature film, according to the Moviehole.net Web site.
Hasselhoff reportedly plans to oversee a straight sequel to the TV series, centring on Michael Knight and his teenage son, who both have cars. The film is envisioned as slightly retro, the site reported.
1985-me thinks this news is “radical!”
2005-me, having seen the repeats on the Sci Fi Channel, wonders what the hell was wrong with 1985-me. (Though 1982-Bonnie remains H-O-double-T hot.)
Probably what was wrong with the 1985 you was that you were 11 years old, there was not the variety of futuristic type shows available, and your mean mother limited what you were allowed to watch.
Just make sure to wear your Knight Rider costume while watching it

(I swear I saw this (or better) costume at Target this weekend…)
1980-me purchased Season 1 of Dukes of Hazzard on DVD when I saw it at Best Buy well over a year ago.
2005-me refuses to watch the show sober, afraid of spoiling the magic of the Dukes of Hazzard to me. I want it to always be the show that I remember, not the crap that it probably is.
